Discussion Starter 1 Aug 28 2004. Does anyone know the timing specification of a 351 windsor how many deg before or after tdc should they be for i guess keeping it cool. The timing on a 351 should be around 6 to 8 degrees at idle some can handle 10 and about 35 degrees at 2600 to 2800.
40 to 50 degrees is WAY too high. I have a 69 Mach 1 with a 351W and Im trying to dial in the ignition timing and fuel mixture. The motor is built up pretty strong with a solid cam and lifters file fit 111 compression pistons bored 030 over balanced and a 3 angle valve job.
